We Ride: Troy Lee ODI-Lock-On Grips

When it comes to our lives outside of work the good folks at dbNV may not agree on a tonne of things; however, here in the shop there are some things we consider indisputable:
Best suspension? Fox
Best cranks? Shimano
Brakes? Yep, Shimano again
Seatpost? LH Thomson baby
In a wide world of components our views start to differentiate from there, so it is rare (super rare) when a new product hits the market that we can, almost, universally get behind.
From a company that, I would argue, has always been more about form then function, in partnership with the recognized leader in lock-on grips comes the new Troy Lee lock-on grip from ODI.

We love the "overmolded" flaps that keep the lock-on collars from digging into our hands and ribbed/undercut design offers the best traction of any grip we have tried while at the same time staying nice and thin.
Great in the wet. Great in the dry; Comfortable with or without gloves.

I have spent the last few weeks riding these grips on my main rig, a Niner One-9 singlespeed.
Of all the rigs that I have owned, long days riding my singlespeeds have always provided the best proof of concept for products at contact points (with the exception of the seat on some rides... when there be mountains you be standing).
The Troy Lee grips offer great grip on the way down but are comfortable and tacky when I am see-sawing tight singletrack or stomping up a steep, loose climb.
Best. Grip. Ever
