Show their wears at Crankworx

Whistler was a little cold but bustling with energy last week with the annual Crankworx event. Many of our suppliers were there showing off a selection of thier 2012 bikes. See our full set of pictures on our Facebook page.

Giant Bicycles had a few toys on display that we hadn`t seen in person before!

New for 2012, Giant`s Contact Switch adjustable height seatpost: 4'' of total drop, Infinite adjustment (no set height position), uses a sealed cartridge with an internal floating piston for reliability and cable operated handlebar remote. Read about the seatpost on Pinkbike.

New for 2012, Giant`s Wheelset: Using DT Swiss internals, every wheel in the four-model line is either tubeless ready or tubeless compatible. The two high-end models both use scandium rim extrusions. The Aero model is paired with carbon fiber for its 50 mm depth. Read about the wheelset at Velonews.

The other big new innovation that Giant has launched for 2012 is their new tapered steerer tube standard, OverDrive 2. For both their road and mountain lines, Giant has partnered with various fork manufacturers to release a new standard 1-1/2" to 1-1/4". They were able to do this without changing the head tube diameters by using a low profile upper bearing. They claim that OverDrive 2 increases torsional steering stiffness by 30 percent. Read about it on Pinkbike.
